Regarded for centuries as the prototype of the baroque horse,
a superb horse in war, bullfighting and for schooling, its influence
on horsemanship and thoroughbreds is colossal.
These few words summarize qualities of the thoroughbred Lusitanian: «nobility, beauty, flexibility, balance, manageability, hardiness». Its character presents a major asset: noble, impetuous, courageous, fine and nevertheless close to man, flexible, sociable, suited to training. The famous Master Nuno Oliveira made these purebreds known and appreciated throughout the world.
